Teaming up as Boston Fusion with our friends, Harvard Dudley, DBCB headed to Flushing, New York, the weekend of August 2nd to race in the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival. DBCB hadn't planned on racing at this festival since it fell on the heels of the Montreal race just one weekend before, but several of our die-hard paddling junkies who just couldn't get enough racing made the trek to New York City for a fun one-day race!

DBCB would like to thank awesome teammate CG and her rock climbing collegue Sarah, for teaching us the ropes of indoor rock climbing. My shoulders will ache for days and I don't know when I'll be able to grip a pen again, but it was SOOO worth it! THANK YOU ladies for showing us a little slice of your Heaven. Montréal Race 2008 Write Up (by Rachel Belino)

One of the many things I love about The Dragon Boat Club of Boston is how diverse our crew is and we had the pleasure to have four paddlers from The Kingston Royals, England join us for a practice. They were passing through on an outrigger expedition. DBCB wishes Mike, Andy, Ronan, Peter and the rest of their team mates from across the Atlantic all the best with their dragon boat season! A great effort this weekend by our Ithaca crew placed DBCB 7th out of 15 premier mixed teams who battled it out in the Cayuga inlet this past Saturday in Ithaca, New York. The narrow inlet made for a thrilling race course and for some intense dragon boat racing!! With temps on Saturday hitting ninety degrees and up, our crew battled the heat and raced 5 times against challenging and familiar competition from the East Coast: Extreme NY, NY Wall Street, Philadelphia Police, etc.
